3. Information on This Website
The information provided on this website is intended to be useful, practical, and educational.
However, website content, articles, guides, examples, calculators, social media content, and other educational materials are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Information on this website may not reflect your individual financial, tax, legal, business, or personal circumstances.
You should not rely solely on website content when making financial, tax, investment, business, or other significant decisions.
Where your circumstances require individualized advice, you should obtain appropriate professional advice.
4. Financial Education and Money Talks
ConsultBM may provide free financial education and resources through our Money Talks platform, website content, social channels, guides, and other educational materials.
These resources are intended to improve financial understanding and awareness.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, financial education content:
- Is general in nature
- Is not individualized financial advice
- Does not create a client-advisor relationship
- Does not constitute a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or invest in any particular financial product or security
- Should be considered alongside your individual circumstances and objectives
ConsultBM does not guarantee that educational information will produce any particular financial result.
5. Professional Services
When you engage ConsultBM for a professional service, the specific scope, deliverables, responsibilities, fees, timelines, and other applicable terms may be established through a separate proposal, engagement letter, service agreement, invoice, or other written communication.
Where a separate written agreement exists, its terms will govern the specific engagement to the extent of any inconsistency with these general Terms.
No professional engagement is created solely because you visit this website, read our content, follow our social media accounts, or submit a general enquiry.
6. Bookkeeping Services
Where ConsultBM provides bookkeeping services, the client is responsible for providing accurate, complete, and timely financial information and supporting documentation.
ConsultBM relies on information provided by the client and cannot be responsible for errors, omissions, delays, or consequences resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or late information supplied by the client or third parties.
The specific responsibilities of ConsultBM and the client may be defined in the applicable engagement agreement.
7. Tax Filing Services
ConsultBM may provide personal and/or corporate tax filing services within the scope agreed with the client.
Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information and documentation required for the preparation or filing of their tax returns.
ConsultBM does not guarantee a particular tax refund, tax outcome, assessment, reassessment, or decision by a tax authority.
Tax authorities retain the authority to review, assess, reassess, accept, reject, or otherwise determine tax matters.
Tax filing services offered by ConsultBM exclude Quebec.
Where a tax matter falls outside the agreed scope of service or requires specialized legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice, ConsultBM may recommend that the client seek additional professional assistance.
8. Financial Advisory Services
Financial advisory services are provided based on the information, objectives, circumstances, and scope discussed with the client.
Clients are responsible for providing information that is accurate and complete.
Financial circumstances can change, and information or recommendations that may be appropriate at one point in time may not remain appropriate later.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, ConsultBM does not guarantee investment performance, financial returns, business results, tax outcomes, or any other particular financial result.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a promise or guarantee of financial success.
9. Consultations and Enquiries
Submitting a contact form, consultation request, quote request, or other enquiry does not automatically create a client relationship.
ConsultBM may review an enquiry before agreeing to provide services.
A consultation or initial conversation may be used to understand your needs, discuss potential services, and determine whether ConsultBM is able to assist.
Any ongoing professional relationship will be subject to the applicable engagement terms.
10. Client Responsibilities
Clients are expected to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Provide requested documents within agreed timelines
- Notify ConsultBM of relevant changes in their circumstances
- Review documents and information provided to them
- Ask questions where information is unclear

ConsultBM may be unable to complete or properly provide a service where required information or documentation is not supplied.
11. Fees and Payments
Fees for professional services will be communicated to the client before or during the engagement, as applicable.
Depending on the service, fees may be provided through a quotation, proposal, engagement agreement, invoice, or other written communication.
Unless otherwise agreed, clients are responsible for paying fees by the applicable due date.
Additional work outside the agreed scope may result in additional fees, subject to communication with the client.
Specific payment, cancellation, refund, or deposit terms may be set out in the applicable engagement agreement or invoice.
12. Cancellations and Changes to Services
Where applicable, ConsultBM may establish cancellation, rescheduling, refund, or service-change terms for a particular engagement.
Clients should provide reasonable notice when cancelling or rescheduling a consultation or service.
ConsultBM reserves the right to discontinue or decline a service where:
- Required information is not provided
- The requested work falls outside our scope
- Continuing the engagement would create a legal, ethical, professional, or operational concern
- The client provides materially inaccurate or misleading information
- The client fails to meet agreed payment or other material obligations
Any outstanding amounts for services already provided may remain payable.
